Plastic Surgery Hamilton NZ

I don’t operate out of Hamilton at this stage; however, it would be to your advantage to undergo your desired procedures at my plastic surgery practice in Remuera, Auckland.

I am a New Zealand fully trained and accredited plastic, reconstructive and hand surgeon. I offer both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. Breast surgery such as breast reduction, breast augmentation, fat transfer, breast lift and breast reconstruction is the area I specifically specialise in. In addition, I specialise in labiaplasty, tummy tuck and liposuction.  I have a passion for skin cancer reconstruction and hand surgery. I offer an aesthetic surgery to the face, in particular blepharoplasty.

There are many advantages when it comes to be seen by me in my Remuera practise:

  1. I am a female plastic and reconstructive surgeon
  2. I am the only female plastic surgeon in New Zealand fully trained in cosmetic surgery of breast, trunk and face
  3. I hold PhD in skin and skin cancer
  4. Well established plastic surgery practice in Remuera
  5. I am extensively trained both in the UK and internationally
  6. My creative and artistic temperament lends itself well to my passion in aesthetic surgery

What to expect from the consultation:

During the first consultation, I take the history and examine my patient. Then I discuss the options and formulate a plan. Surgical goals, what to expect from the surgery, what the motivation is are discussed in depth.

Often, a second consultation is scheduled if the patient decides to proceed with the surgery.

How to prepare for your procedure:

Preparation for the surgery depends mostly on the type of procedure the patient is to undergo. It is important to avoid taking blood thinning medications for 2 weeks before the surgery since they make tissue prone to bleeding. You may also be asked to stop taking ginko, ginseng and St John’s Wort as they may affect clotting and anaesthesia.

Smoking must be stopped for 6 weeks before surgery and for 6 weeks afterwards as it affects the blood supply to the skin. Often, I do not offer any aesthetic surgery to smokers.

Usually you come to the hospital at 7:00am on the morning of surgery, having had nothing to eat from midnight. Very clear instructions will be given to you by the theatre nurse who will contact you a day or two before your surgery.

Admission to the ward takes place in the morning but it varies. You will meet the anaesthetist who will discuss the anaesthetic with you in detail.

You must arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home after your surgery. You should have somebody staying with you for a few days after your procedure.

Accommodation:

Your recovery time is very much dependent on which procedure you wish to undergo. There are different options of accommodation available in Auckland if you need to stay around after your surgery. You can stay with a family or friends. You may be asked to remain in Auckland for 1-3 nights.
